Defensive Handgun - Intermediate Skill Builder (ISB)
This Intermediate Handgun Skill Builder course is designed as a refresher course for the intermediate student that has already taken the Intermediate Handgun course and wishes to elevate and refine their skills by acquiring a balance of speed and accuracy from the holster. This class focuses on distances from “close contact” (arms length) out to 25 yards with time pressure and focuses on the DTRIAD handgun test. This is an excellent class to prepare intermediate students for participation in the advanced courses offered by Defensive TRIAD, as well as test advanced students that understand the need for continued practice. This course is designed to get the intermediate student to the level of ability to pass the Defensive Handgun Skills Test through repetition and proper feedback for economy of motion. Defensive Shotgun 1 This course is the first in a series of courses on the defensive use of a shotgun and takes beginning and intermediate shotgun students through shotgun manipulation and anatomy, sling use and presentation, making shots from 3 to 25 yards with pairs, head shots and close contact engagement as well as movement in structures and doorways. The defensive shotgun is the most powerful and versatile firearm in the inventory and often the least understood by their owners. This course will increase your awareness, skill and confidence with proper deployment of the defensive shotgun. |
Defensive Handgun 2
This course is a dynamic, reality based course that is designed to elevate your defensive handgun skills with realistic responses to violent, aggressive encounters.
An altercation involving firearms is dynamic and involves delivering accurate rounds downrange while moving, finding cover and, possibly multiple adversaries. This course takes these factors into consideration and introduces the student to high speed point shooting, shooting on the move, multiple targets, one handed shooting, one handed weapon manipulations, close contact shooting for quick response to violent encounters, use of cover and altered shooting platforms. Come out and see what all of this is about and discover your potential to deal with violent encounters in a safe, realistic environment that introduces high speed, quick response, dynamic reactions to these situations and gets you off the bench and away from the square range mentality. Prior enrollment in Intermediate Defensive Handgun is required for participation in this course. |
